Hmm, I've looked into the case. Just behind the video
input plugs, there's a series of wires that run into a
(plastic) guard that is pop-riveted into a metal piece
that rocks back-and-forth a bit when you press on the
external plugs. The wires appear to be connected to
the motherboard under the guard, though it's not
obvious that this is so.
Also, I've located the video card (ATI Rage II). To
an untrained eye like mine, I see nothing wrong with
it (the video card). I guess maybe I was expecting to
see a big scorch mark or something ;-)
It would seem logical thatif I could test this
component myself, I could rule out trouble there if it
worked and replace it if it fails. (sigh) Is there a
way?
