We have had to deal with several of the original 15" Power Computing
Multimedia monitors showing a dim display. It always happens on Power
machines only. I am at a loss to explain it, but often if you hook the
monitor up to a IBM PC compatible or other Mac, it will work fine.
Immediately after doing this you may wish to hook it back up to the Power.

I suspect there may be an issue with the video signal sent out by the
Power, since the monitor is fine on other machines. Here are some
general tips to try:

1. Reset the cuda

2. Replace the clock battery

3. Reseat the video riser card. Often this card drifts up and causes all
sorts of wierd problems.

4. Utilize a Mac/VGA adapter and plug into the other Mac video port.

5. Change the refresh rate in the Monitors control panel.

It's a very good suggestion to leave the monitor off for a while. A new
monitor is not a bad idea, as if you are able to recover a visible
display who knows how long it will last. The down side is that the 15"
multimedia included speakers in front which were a nice feature at the time.

Hope this helps.
