I have a PowerCenter Pro 210 that has worked great for me for the past year or so (after I picked it up used on eBay). However, I have had a problem with the 4 meg internal hard drive lately. When it spins down to sleep and I wake it up, it takes maybe 10 or 15 seconds to finally start spinning. I first noticed this a few months ago when I was gone for a week and it spent the week asleep (except for answering a few faxes). It took an hour hour and a number of attempts to get it going, then it worked fine again.
This is, naturally, making me nervous. The machine came with a wide SCSO card in it, although I have not tested it. I am thinking about getting a backup drive and it might be easiest to get an external one, just because I have no luck trying to add an internal drive because I can never figure out how to set a different SCSI ID on the second drive so I don't have two "0" drives. Anyone have any experience with either the problem or a an external SCSI solution?
