I upgraded from a 180 MHz 604e to a 500 MHz PowerLogix G3, and although the
number is more than double, the motherboard dropped from running at 60 MHz
to 50 MHz, and the speed increase was not dramatic. It _was_ enough to make
Baldur's Gate run aenough faster to become playable, but not fast enough for
Diablo II. Some of my speed increase came from doubling the RAM at the same
time.

Considering the lack of support available from Apple or others, I have no
opinion either way. I wouldn't want to buy a new box from Apple, but the old
one is getting long in the tooth. I live in Columbus and went into the new
Apple store to see what they had, and to get a new battery. If and only if I
had an iMac and brought in the serial number would they sell me that
particular battery, and would not even talk about my PowerTower 180e.
