Meredith,
It just so happens that I bought that exact 333MHz XLR8 ZIF a few weeks
ago, although I have it running in an P/Mac 8600. Bumped up to 357MHz,
it's very stable, and hasn't given me any problems whatsoever with OS
9.1. So as far as the brand/ product is concerned, they're great for the
money. They also have a 400MHz ZIF bundle for $197, I believe.

------------------------------
I have a PowerCenter Pro 240 that I want to accelerate, and I've been
researching my options. I'm leaning toward a bundle at Other World
Computing that includes an XLR8 CarrierZIF PCI Card and OWC-branded 333
MHz
ZIF CPU. I like the ZIF concept, and this board shouldn't slow down my
60
MHz bus speed, unlike the Sonnet boards. And the bundle is only $148!

Does anyone have any experience with the XLR8 CarrierZIFs? What about
OWC-branded CPUs? Would you recommend a different brand of
accelerator? I've read the XLR8 reviews on www.xlr8yourmac.com and I
think
I'll be happy, but I wanted to hear what you guys had to say.
