As this is a Power Computing Forum, I know of no internal modem that works with such. If there is such, "Put the Word On ME"! Anything that would reduce the number of cables and clutter.
I had a 28.8 US Robotics external modem. When the V-90 standard was made universal, Installing the US Robotics Firmware update, put it out of commission. Mailed it back and received one back by return mail . Very Happy. Then 3 Com bought them out. When I bought a US Robotics 56K external modem, there were many problems getting it to latchup on line properly (OS 8.1). Much of my time wasted talking with PC dweebs at 3 Com. Threw the US Robotics into the corner, bought a Global Village and never looked back. After the US Robotics "Universal EXTENSION" came out, The US Robotics external modem worked on my obsolete units, then passed to gran chillins. As to dropping the connection in mid down load ... That was AOL @#$%^&. Who bought out Palm? I've done my own trouble shooting for the last couple of years and trashed the 3Com Bookmark.
