Hello all.....I am SO glad this list exists! Here's my dilema. I just
installed the MacAlly PCI Firewire/USB card and am running OS 9.0 on my
Powercenter 150, which has an XLR8 G3 card running at 400MHZ. I have apple's
firewire extension ver 2.5 and USB extension 1.3.5, which fulfills MacAllys
requirements. However, my IBM GXP 60 gig firewire drive will not mount. I'm
not sure the OS is even aware that the Macally card is installed. By the
way, the computer refused to boot with the card in the bottom slot. It is
now in the middle pci slot and it boots fine. One last note, MacAlly's
website says that the PCI bus needs to be ver 2.1. I have no idea if the
powercenter's PCI bus is 2.0 or 2.1, and if a firmware upgrade is even
possible if it's 2.0.
So can anyone recommend a firewire/USB pci card that IS working on a
similar machine? What about Orange Micro? I have a week to return the card.
Please help. Thanks.
Kurt
