Hey,

Adding a G3 400 upgrade card from Powerlogix in my Powerbase 180. First
card: got it working very well with all the various ram chips, configured
for 400 mhz. Installed softare. Ran cache enabler; got an error that the
AutoCAcheDectect "failed to detect the type of SRAMs, possibly indicating
bad SRAMs" Powerlogix gave me a case number and I returned the card (I paid
shipping?) and got a second card. Same errror. I've taking out all but the
newest ram, tried 8.1 and 8.6, taken out original L2 cache (wouldn't boot
with it in) taken out all add-on cards (video and networking), tried base
extensions. Nothing changes the error. Oh, also tried reconfiguring the
card for various mobo speeds and CPU ratios. Again, always the same error.

Anybody had a similar thing happen? Is it Powerlogix just having a bad run?
Very unnerving.

thanks,
Pete
