I have a Power Base 180 with a tempermental 2.5 G Quantum Fireball EL model el25a881 which has 39 pins and am looking to replace the hard drive but am a little confused as to what to replace it with. Being in Canada limits the availability of drives and mail order from the States can be cost prohibitive. I have found a number of used drives but am not convinced that they will fit or work properly in my machine. Just what should I be looking for? If I find a drive that has the correct number of pins and power socket, will that be enough or is there something else that I need to worry about? Can the 50 pin sockets on the ribbon cable attached to the floppy and cd drives, I have 4 available, be used to add extra hard drives or am I limited to just replacing the single drive attached to the other ribbon cable with the pin socket?
