Hi, I put in a Western Digital 6.4 gig drive (Caviar). It was very easy to drop in once I had the correct jumper settings for it. It is an ATA 66 drive and plug in just fine with the onboard IDE cable as IDE new drives typically work well with older cables: you just don't get the faster speed, though the Western Digital drive was much faster than the original drive that it replaced.
