I agree with Mr. Russell. It could depend on what you are scanning, text
or graphics. One significant factor is your OCR software. My personal
favorite is OmniPage pro. OmniPage Lite used to come with the SCSI
Microtek Scanners. I have always upgraded to the Pro version. The spread
in prices on scanners is significant. The first Apple Scanner I ever
played with, was done surreptitiously in the S/W development Dept. of my
company. The Apple monochrome Scanner cost over two thou at the time
('bout 1987 or '88).
