Sounds like a video problem. Try reseating the vram dimms or reseating your video card (if applicable). I have an 8Mb IXMicro 3d UltimateRez card. I often get 'noise' graphics that appear randomly in 9.1. I get them even more often if I use the old MFR drivers. No problems in osX. Could be a software conflict.
