I don't know why a game would cause that. But there's an easy way to find

Well maybe, but right now it just sounds like busy work. I mean, that 
might just be more work for you later to sort out if you'll have to 
reconfigure the SCSI and video pieces just to get them back to where they 
are now. Maybe swapping slots around is no big deal.

I'm wondering if:
a) the driver you found is really for that card, since it was difficult to 
locate
b) first time it didn't work, second time it didn't work, on the third 
install it worked? If so there's something fishy with either the card, the 
driver, or the pilot.
c) you might be better off returning it and spending a little more for an 
Asante, for example.

Run it and see if it reports the D-link software isn't loading at boot 
time?
