Hmm, haven't tried this, actually (setting the CD as the startup disk). FWIW, rebooting and trying command-option-shift-delete(-SCSI#) doesn't help, nor does holding "C." If it's a software issue, it's gotta be near the OF level... How frequently do ROMs go bad? ;-) I've never booted into OF on the PTP... I heard somewhere that PCCs were default setup as terminal IO in OpenFirmware, is that true? I've also heard that 6-slot Macs (no built-in video) are all set to default to terminal mode also... But I think I'm getting ahead of myself... >Hardware... >Did you zap pram (cmnd-opt-P-R) at *startup*. (Doing so at restart doesn't >fully clear the pram.) Yes, I always zap the PRAM from a cold boot. Plus, I've pushed the cuda switch countless times. Maybe I could boot into OF and give it the clear NVRAM command (anyone know what that is? I've done it - way back when - on a SPARCStation - granted, not OF - but never in OpenFirmware). >Cheers...Michael I'll give the CD Startup Disk a try... Thanks!
