I tried booting into Open Firmware on my PTP250 with Sonnet G3/450/1M. The computer froze with a black screen, i.e., no video. I tried typing "bye <RETURN>" and nothing happened. I couldn't even restart from the kbd (with Command-Control-PowerKey).
Should I be able to boot into OF with my machine? Part of the ASP report on my setup is reproduced below. - Aaron >Report Created:2002/10/07 at 11:20:33 > >Software overview > Mac OS overview > Finder: 9.1 > System: 9.1 US > Active enabler: None > At Ease: 1.3.1 > QuickTime: 5.0.2 > File sharing: is off > The startup device has been chosen; however, Apple System Profiler can't >determine which SCSI device it is. >Memory overview > Disk cache: 7.96 MB > Virtual memory: is off > Built-in memory: 352 MB [SNIP] > External L2 cache: Not installed >Hardware overview > Machine ID: 67 > Model names: Power Macintosh 9500 series >WGS 9650 series > Keyboard type: Apple Extended Keyboard > Processor info: PowerPC G3 > Machine speed: 450 MHz > FPU: Built-in >Production information > ROM revision: $77D.28F2 > Serial number: Not applicable > Software bundle: Not applicable > Devices and Volumes > SCSI Bus 2 > ID = 2 > Hard drive > Driver version: 6.4 > Mac OS partitions: 3 > Removable media: No > Vendor: ATA > Revision number: > Product ID: MAXTOR 6L080J4 > Serial number: > Unformatted size: 74.55 GB [SNIP] > SCSI Bus 0 > ID = 3 > CD-ROM drive > Driver version: Not available > Mac OS partitions: 0 > Removable media: Yes > Vendor: TEAC > Revision number: 1.0D > Product ID: CD-ROM CD-516S > Serial number: > > No disk inserted > PCI > Slot $B1 > SCSI card > Card type: scsi > Card name: ACARD,6260 > Card model: ACARD,6260 > Card revision: 1 > Card vendor ID: 1191 > Slot $D2 > PCI Slot > Card type: > Card name: pci2646,f002 > Card model: > Card revision: 32 > Card vendor ID: 11AD > Slot $F2 > Display card > Card type: display > Card name: IMS,tt128mb8 > Card model: tt128m > Card revision: 1 > Card vendor ID: 10E0 > > Display > Screen Size (pixels): 1024 x >768 > Grays/Colors: Thousands > Resolution (dpi): 72 x 72 > Additional Information: Main >screen > Floppy > No disk inserted > > -- Power Computing is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Power Computing list info: <http://lowendmac.com/power/list.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/powercomputing%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
