Actually James, the only way a 7300 fetches more than $100 on eBay these days is if it has a G3 upgrade. I purchased 2 recently as gifts. One had 128mb ram and a Pentium 166 card...price $81, and the other, stock, was.... $26.25. The machines worth buying on eBay these days, insofar as pre-G3 units go, are the 7500-7600-7300's, 8600-9600's, thePowerWaves & PowerTowerPro's, and the SuperMac S900's & J700's. All of the above share similar architecture, being based on the Apple 'Nitro/TNT/Tsunami' mobo. The 8500's& 9500's have athe same board as well, but are a royal pain in the butt to add ram to. Any of the above machines can be had for under $100 on a good day (for the buyer), unless they have substantial extras, and they are excellent machines for upgrading. The only real limitation of the above is the bus speed, topping out at 50 mHz or so, but the 9600's, PTP's and S900's have 6 PCI slots, which offset the reduced bus ability. -Cheers...Michael -- Power Computing is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Power Computing list info: <http://lowendmac.com/power/list.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:powercomputing@;mail.maclaunch.com> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:powercomputing-off@;mail.maclaunch.com> For digest mode, email: <mailto:powercomputing-digest@;mail.maclaunch.com> Subscription questions: <mailto:listmom@;lemlists.com> List archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/powercomputing%40mail.maclaunch.com/> --------------------------------------------------------------- >The Think Different Store http://www.ThinkDifferentStore.com ---------------------------------------------------------------
