PowerTowe Pro?

I've found that standard 5.25" drive rails (more often used for servers)
work well. They're the same height and length (looking at the PTP head on)
and if you're lucky, a compatible length for the slots on the PTP. In my
experience, the PTP standard drive rails are kinda flimsy (attaching to the
CD-Rom drive with weak little fingers), so when I came across the server
drive rails, I rejoiced and replaced them.

Check out page 10 of this PDF file for a good picture of the rails in use...

The PTP has a strange chassis design, going with 1/2 drive rails and 1/2
standard screw-in mounts, which is what threw me off initially as well, and
I remember having the same dillemma.

One guy came up with a novel way to use old simms as drive rails (for an old
PS2) here:

Luckily, you won't have to risk shattered memory chips to mount your
CD-Rom... there IS a better way!

A little searching turns up these replacement rails, exactly like the ones I
have:
http://www.directron.com/rails.html

When you get them, you'll find that the "snap" part sticks out too far, but
it pops out of the rest of the rail, so just pry it out first. Screw the
rail to the side of the drive, slide the drive into place, and put in 2
screws on the exposed side to secure it. Not having the snap is not a big
deal... the rails were designed with snaps to install in cases that took
rails on BOTH sides of the drive. Since we screw the drive directly to the
chassis on the non-rail side, there is no chance it will slide out the
front.

Pick up a pair of these packages, and you can (FINALLY!) put 4 CD drives in
your PTP.

Cheers,
Casey
