I have an OS 9 question. In preparation for installing OS X on my old PowerCenterPro, I installed an additional drive, with two partitions, and to make a long story short, I had a bunch of system folders scattered over the system. I also did a bunch of moving applications around, and deleting redundant copies of the applications. I realized that this would screw up any aliases I had, so I deleted most of those.
My problem is, I've got two items in the trash that I can't get rid of. The finder complains that I can't delete them, because they contain items that are in use. They are empty folders, one from Virtual PC and one of the subfolders from Outlook Express app. As they appear in the trash, they are empty, but they have the same modification dates as the real folders that are still in their respective partitions. I've run Disk First Aid and Norton Disk Doctor on all the drives in the system, and they found a bunch of problems, but none that solved the trash problem. Does this ring a bell for anyone? Along with my OS X install problems (See other message) I'm getting closer to just reformatting all my drives and starting over, but that's an agonizing thought. _________ | homas Thomas A.
