Thanks for the tips on getting rid of the offending items. Somehow, one of those tricks worked, though I'm not sure which one. :)
However, I still have one dangling problem. Norton Utilities reports a Catalog B-tree error that it can't fix. It says that there is a folder with no parent folder somewhere in the catalog. I tried "unerasing" the file(s) with Norton, and that didn't work. Remarkably, Sherlock v2 can find the folder and its files, but Sherlock's 'move to trash' function won't affect it either. Is there a tool that I can dig into the B-tree with? I thought Norton used to have a Disk Editor, but apparently the more recent versions don't, and I don't want to use an older version, because I've hear that they don't work with HFS+ volumes, which the one in question is. Any ideas? Thanks again for the previous help. _________ | homas Thomas A.
