A couple of minor suggestions. First, I didn't see you say you tried
shift-booting with your hard drive, though I doubt that will work based on
your other problems. Second, do a regular or shift boot but leave the
computer on all night. I've had experiences in the past where after a
particularly bad crash the computer needs to think about it for a long time,
where I think long = about 20 minutes, but I would just check in the morning
to be sure. Sounds like a memory chip gone bad, or something like that. If
you have more than 1 memory bank, you might try reversing them, or removing
them 1 by 1.
