newbie - open firmware on a powerbase 180

[Ryan Mustard]

when i try to boot into open firmware by holding command-option-o-f the 
monitor won't respond, as if it's not getting a signal.  so i can't see 
anything, and i don't know if it's actually booted into open firmware 
or not.

ultimately i'm trying to install linux on this old box, so let of know 
of anything that you think would help.
