I have a PowerBase 180 without a CPU upgrade and for several years have been using OS9.1 with no real problems. Now I have a Power Mac and I'm switching to OSX, but I want to give the PowerBase to a computerless friend. I'm going to wipe the internal and external drives and re-install the OS and I'm wondering if it's possible to use 9.2.2, so that my friend will have the latest version. Also, I've noticed that 9.2.2 has Apple's disc burning program on it, which I think will be easier for my friend, a computer novice, to use than Toast. Does anyone have any experience with with this?
Here's my configuration:
PowerBase 180 80mb of RAM, 1 gb internal IDE CD player replaced with a SCSI burner External SCSI 2 gb drive (boot drive) External SCSI zip drive
