You never stated what programs you planned to run ... i tunes? ... I play my stereo. The 12" woofers sound better than any book shelf items hooked to a computer.

9.2 and 9.2.1 were very problematic and unstable. However, I have 9.2.2 on
my wife's computer (used to be mine), and it's been more stable, if
possible, than 9.1. One very minor "advantage" of 9.2.2 over 9.1 is that if
you are playing iTunes, the built-in volume key on the Pismo controls
iTunes, not the master volume. Of course, this is a moot point in the
current situation. :-) That said, I also recommend sticking with 9.1, rather
than 9.2.2. For one thing, you will use a bit less system heap with 9.1. The
second reason is that you will not need to give him huge download files to
get the update to 9.2.2.
