Your post didn't mention if the ZIF carrier had a processor on it.

I would try to download the manuals, etc. for that device and find out what settings it needs in order to work with the PowerBase. Many accelerators have different DIP switch settings for the PowerBase.

I have a new XLR8 ZIF carrier that I haven't put to use yet, but I think it will only accept a 300MHz G3 or better.

You may also want to swap out the system battery just for the heck of it.

Also be sure to check the seating of the ZIF carrier and the video riser cards, a notorious issue on the PowerComputing models.
