Actually, the problem is with OWC. According to their website, EDO RAM will
work in a PC132, so I got some.

My computer DID recognize the added RAM. BUT, it totally messed up the
content of my hard drive, before I figured out what the real problem was:
The EDO RAM. When I took out the EDO sticks, everything worked fine again!
Except for some files that I never could recover. (This is one trick in
tracing problems: Go back to the last configuration that worked. If it still
works, the problem is most likely with whatever it was that you added.)
Somebody at work here told me that it is possible sometimes to change RAM
types, as long as you change all of them at the same time. I valued my files
too much to try that trick. But, some of you may want to, just to satisfy a
morbid sense of curiosity.....

I contacted OWC and they replaced my EDO RAM with FPM, which is what the
manual called for in the first place.

Lessons learned: Do not trust vendor's information. Always go back to the
product manual, the manufacture's site, or independent sites (like LowEndMac
and EveryMac.) The other one is, always back up before making any changes. I
like OWC, but I've learned not to take their information at face value.

BTW, there are some questions are being posted on this site recently, that
can best be answered by going to the manufacturer's website first(at least
those that are still in business.)
