Here's the one I bought: D-Link DFE-530TX+ Where: OfficeMax Cost: about $10
There's a software disk that installs a driver, then (after restart, I think) in the AppleTalk control panel you can choose the pci slot in which the NIC is installed. Voila! You 've got a new, faster, ethernet port.
Best of luck, Scott
I just went online to see if the NIC is still available. Here's a link: http://www.officemax.com/max/solutions/search/search.jsp?bvc=yes&searchType=product&searchString=D-Link+DFE-530TX%2B&searchBtn.x=32&searchBtn.y=7
The model number is the same, but the package is different and the product info doesn't mention Mac OS9, but if it doesn't come with a Mac install disk, just let me know offlist and I'll email the installer to you.

If only I could find a NIC that works ona Mac I would try that, but, so far all I have are a dozen PC only NICs. unless someone out there knows a place for a driver for a Tulip, Intel Etherexpress, 3COM, Linksys 8029, or other such that works in Mac Land...<grumble>
Has anyone else ever experienced a dead Etherent connection when by all rights it should work?
