You want a "retail" CD. These are usable on any supported model.

An "Install CD" is usually specific to the model with which it was 
supplied.

A CD-R is indeed a copy.

There is a 9.0 "retail" CD, a 9.1 "Upgrade", which also works with any 
supported model.

And a 9.2.1 and a 9.2.2 "Upgrade", which also works with any supported 
model.

9.1 is as far as you can go with the PTP, IIRC, or any 604 Mac or clone.
