<<Anyone know what original software installation discs came with the
PowerBase series? I have the one which installs MacOS 7.5.3 but
nothing higher. What I'm looking for is one which installs
MacOS8.0/8.1 with the proper driver although the HHD I have installed
is now an Apple HDD so I am assuming I do not need a non-Apple drive
driver, correct? The CD-ROM drive on the other hand is another
situation and it appears that the only Apple extension that makes it
work is the CD-ROM extension that came originally on System 7.6. It is
a Teac drive so I do not know whether the FWB Toolkit will fix it or
not. Anyone familiar with these HHD and CD-ROM drive issues on the
PowerBase? One last question: this PowerBase has a 603e CPU. What if
any are the upgrade options? Thanks and nice to know of this
discussion group.>>

I used an off the shelf purchase of OS 8.0 upgrade, and later another off the shelf OS
8.1 upgrade for my PB 180 and it works just fine. I do not know if there ever was an
8.0/8.1 disk that came with them.
