>What would a faster 603e processor card in my 180 PB accomplish? I >have a 240 MHz 603e card taken from another PowerComputing machine. >Just wondered since the bus speed, etc. will not really be affected.
The bus speed tracks the processor speed *divided by* the bus speed multiplier. These are all coordinated in order to maintain about 50 MHz bus speed (a little less for some models), irrespective of the processor speed. The motherboard cache operates at the bus speed; and the backside cache, if used, operates usually at one-half the processor speed. Fractional multipliers are possible (e.g., 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5, 5, 5.5, etcetera). -- Power Computing is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and... 123Inkjets.com <http://lowendmac.com/ad/123inkjets.html> Support Low End Mac <http://lowendmac.com/lists/support.html> Power Computing list info: <http://lowendmac.com/power/list.html> --> AOL users, remove "mailto:" Send list messages to: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To unsubscribe, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> For digest mode, email: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subscription questions: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> List archive: <http://www.mail-archive.com/powercomputing%40mail.maclaunch.com/> Using a Mac?
