Your PowerBase does have an IDE capabilities. You can install a IDE
cd-drive (master only) if you want to try one of your IDE CD-ROMs.

Greetings, all.
I switched out the CD-ROM drive with a known good 600i from a 7200,
and the PowerBase still doesn't see the CD-ROM drive. All my other
Apple CD-ROM drives are IDE drives, so nothing doing there. :(
In other news, I copied the 8.5DT boot floppy onto the hard disk and
am able to boot the thing -- even though that OS 8.5 install complains
that it is not running from floppy, it still boots. Unfortunately the
8.5DT is not a "net boot" floppy, so I have no network access.
Any other thoughts? I'd much rather get this thing running and do
something useful with it than relegate it to doorstop status. :/
