I made some progress today on the ethernet connection. I brought home a
10/100 fast ethernet switch from work and hooked it up so I could see the
indicator lights. When I first plugged in the Mac I got nothing on the
indicator light. I checked the TCP/IP settings. The subnet mask was blank so
I put in the correct subnet mask. I went up to eat dinner and left the PTP
sitting there at the dektop. When I came back the indicator light on the
switch was yellow (yellow indicates a 10-base-T connection). So something is
working. Unfortunately, still can't get MSIE 3.0 to browse the Internet.
