First, pull it apart and replace the battery. These clones will not start (just 
like you described) with a dead battery. It is a Ray-O-Vac battery that is 
available at most Radio Shacks. 

This should allow you to start up the machine, then you can check the content 
of the hard drive. 

I recommend getting a copy of Tech Tool Pro in case the hard drive is not quite 
up to spec. You can boot directly from TTP if you need. (Hold down the C key 
while booting up).

While you are inside, check all the connections, and make sure all cards are 
seated properly. (wiggle each of them or take them out and put them back in.)
