Hi all

Here's a bit more power computing mac chatter for you..

I've got this old PTP here and its on OS X 10.3.9, and I don't know whats a pain in the posterior about it-it just works and works real well. But, I have given it 512MB RAM though. I think that is the big thing with X-its just not happy if it doesn't have 512MB. And a Radeon 7000 or better, which this box now has.

But I can't for the life of me figure out how to export my email to another disk or USB pen drive or some way to back it up. I tried running the client itself from a non-boot drive to no avail. When my previous boot drive died a horrible noisy death, it took the email with it apparently. The only truly valuable email was the only email I ever got from my father before he was killed, and it was funny too :-((

Now I've got a real noisy SCSI drive as the boot drive and I hate it. I've got a Beige G3 that works and I'm thinking of moving the video drives over to that or just sucking the stuff off them onto the new 40Gig IDE drive I bought for that box. Right now that'd cost me nothing, versus $60 minimum for an Acard ATA133 card for this mac. The beige G3 also has a faster memory bus (mine even has the rare 83MHz rated Moto northbridge soldered in :-) and more upgrade options. Plus I can get all I want of them for $20 apiece complete box price.

How the heck do I backup my email on this thing so I can get rid of this noisy-ass hard drive??!!

Thanks as always

Bolton
