Actually there might be one way. What I discovered about the windows was that 
you could get all the names of them. This comes in handy because you could 
store the window names into a global variable, then when PM opens again (you 
would have to do this through another AppleScript), check the variable. If 
there are names there, then have the script go and open those files. To ensure 
their location, you would have to also store the coordinates of the window 
before it was closed, but that's pretty easy to do since they are part of the 
windows dictionary.

I'll work on that when I get a few minutes (strange how when you don't work 
with something for a while you loose your touch...I haven't touched any 
AppleScripts in almost two years).
