Hi All,

A day or so ago while my PowerMail was collecting mail it told me -
"Error. Cannot write to Database". Oops. I knew I was near the 2Gig
limit. Powermail went into a loop so all I could do was force
quit. I re-launched Powermail and compacted the database and all
seem well until I noticed I had no past e-mail at all. The folder
structure was right, but no e-mail was visible that was aged before
that days date. The database was nearly 900mb so it seems as if the
mail should be there.

So I did a low level rebuild. This failed with an error 493. Tried it
again. Same error. Then PowerMail just started crashing on launch. Eek!.

Next steps were a restart, permissions rebuild, and a DiskWarrior
rebuild. Still had a crash on starting up PowerMail.

So I deleted all the PowerMail prefs, hid the over PowerFiles and set
up a new user environment.

Then I bought Power Salvage and ran it over night. It successfully
recovered 250,000 e-mails which are currently being imported (7 hours
to go it says).

Oh, I'm 3,500 miles and 12 days away from my latest backup BTW.

So the question, assuming I can finish importing these mails, is:

Can I retain my filters and account setting from the previous user
environment? Any way to do that?

Cheers

Derry
