Well, it appears not to work for me. Before I sent that last post
(quoted below) I ran a test, just to make sure I hadn't missed one of
the normal 'bail-out' shortcuts. I sent myself a couple of jpegs --
about 400k, enough to give me a few seconds of upload time in which to
try the experiment -- and tried Cmd-period, along with various
combinations involving the escape key. None of these aborted the sending
of the email, which went out (and was subsequently retrieved) as normal.
