Thanks for the reply -- your first comment ("undo whatever is autofiling
your outgoing messages in the wrong place) -- solved the problem. I had
inadvertently created a filter that did just that!
So now my original scheme works perfectly: I have created a folder
called " Sent Mail" (the initial " " keeps it up near the top of the
folder list). Then in "Preferences/General" select this folder as the
place to file a message after sending.
