It seems that something is configured strangely on the list. I appeared
that I got the Mailsword messages only in response to the mails that I
posted to the list--as if someone could use the mailing list software to
correspond to me personally. Of course, I can't be sure of this, but what
I observed was that I got 3 emails that corresponded to my 3 most recent
postings, and not for anyone else's (many 10's or 100's of) postings in
the last few weeks.

I suggest you look into whether there is a setting on your list software
that needs to be changed to protect us from idiots like this list member.
