What is the limit on recipients?

When I drag a list of 900+ addresses into a new message, then click Save
as Draft, the message gets saved (after some several seconds have
elapsed). Scrolling through the Recipients list in the Message window, it
appears that all 900 addresses are still there. However, after closing
the window, and looking at the draft message listed in the Out Tray, I see:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] (+ 159 others)

in the To column. It appears that MOST of my recipients have been thrown
out. Opening up the message window again confirms that they are gone. I
have not yet attempted to Send the message.

**FEATURE REQUEST** Please add a count of recipients in the Message
window itself, as well as the Browser.

**FEATURE REQUEST** Please increase the Recipient limit! (to 2,000...?)
(Also, if you enter more than it can handle, there should at least be an
informational warning message).

Now, before you attack, I am NOT a spammer. I manage a mailing list,
sending out a weekly newsletter to around 950 people. The address list
changes (slightly) every week, and I manage the list in a Panorama
database. For several years I have been using Emailer to send out the
list, and it works very well, even telling me in the log (as many times
as needed) that, "There were more recipients in the list than the service
supports; the remaining recipients will be resent." In other words, it
handles any ISP limits for me, automatically, thank you very much. FYI, I
tried this with Apple's Mail, and, while it seemed to be handling the
addresses, it got SO SLOW...as to be unusable.

I would love to move over to PM for this task, and I was hoping it would
handle it. If anyone knows a better way, let me know. Because the list
is updated every week, and because it is not a "self-subscribe" type of
list (such as this PM discussion list) I wasn't sure if there was any
kind of mailing list tool that would fit the bill, without a lot of
hassle on my part each week.
