I was thinking of bringing this up myself. There was some noticeable delay in 4.2 (at least with one of my two PM User Environments), and it is probably double or triple the time in PM5. Well, I can live with it for the moment (though it is sometimes up to 5 seconds!), but it sure would be nice to know what is happening during that time. Indexing? Running filters? Actually storing it in the message database...? The user environment where this happens very noticeably has a total number of 107,865 messages, and its message database is 594,7 MB (with an index of 119,2 MB). I have just recently compacted it and rebuilt indices, but that did not change anything. Regards, Christian.
