I would very much appreciate help from experts on this forum.

When I open PowerMail 4.2.1 I get the message 'Can't open the index file'
even if I try to rebuild the database, etc.

I can get more details, i.e. :
'An indexing error occurred'
(index)
Class=QIE; what =9, when=2(index)

This problem is preventing me emptying the mail trash.

I would rather not reload the application if I can avoid it because there
are so many settings and I have previously forgotten at least one, with
serious consequential effects.

I sent this problem to [EMAIL PROTECTED] but received no response.
