Aha!! See, I am not the only one. Max, what were the symptoms -- did your mouse pointer briefly flash into a "hand" icon when you clicked? I've experienced this problem intermittently, and nobody has had an explanation for it (other than to suggest I have a bad mouse or some kind of driver conflict). I *have* noticed that going into system prefs and pulling the "double click speed" down worked as a temporary fix to the problem.
