This true, the recent mail window (RMW hereafter, since I'm a very lazy
typist) is cleared when PM quits (whether that be intentionally or
'unexpectedly'). This subject is similar to a previous one much debated
on this list, namely that of Flagging. Some people want the ability to
Flag messages to make the easily relocatable, some see it as an
unnecessary bloating of PM's lean, mean, streamlined functionality.
Without wanting to re-ignite the argument, I would humbly suggest that
perhaps a good half-way house would be an ability to mark chosen messages
in the RMW with a "retain between sessions" checkbox (or similar).
Messages so marked would remain in the RMW even after quitting PM, until
being unmarked. This would provide an easy way to return to messages that
require responses or whatever, even though they have been filed in
folders by filters and even after they have been read (and are therefore
no longer bold).

The more I think about it the more I believe that this would be a great
feature -- it would certainly make things much easier for me. Since all
my mail is auto-sorted by filters into various folders (numbering in the
hundreds and nested to boot), I tend to use the RMW as a 'things to reply
to' file. But it's not really well suited to that. Having the ability to
mark a message so that it stayed in the RMW between quits, and even after
clicking the "Clear all recent mail" button (the red X) would add a great
deal of functionality for a small about of interface clutter, IMHO.

Just for what it's worth.
Cheers all;
Rick
