At first glance, I thought the steps were too lengthy and looked for something simple. Searching versiontracker.com or macupdate.com provided a few options if you want to choose that route. <http://www.apple.com/applescript/ical/> The AppleScripts I've created, for triggering by an event in iCal, so far are for iTunes, text to speech, and Finder.
