The problem with most mailers that have timed purging of trash (including
the PM scripts) is that they are based on the sent/received time of the
message.

So, if I have a message in my inbox for 2 or 3 months and then, whilst
cleaning up my inbox move it to the trash, the message will likely be
deleted the next time the purger runs. What I really want is a message
attribute called "last filed date" which is updated whenever a message is
moved from one folder to another.
Then...I can delete messages that were moved to the trash more than 5
days ago rather than messages that were received more than 5 days ago.
Much, much, safer....
