Larry, et al,
Point taken on OSX's multitasking and stability (other's), they just
don't matter to me
because I haven't had those problems enough to spur me to switch from my
very stable 9.2. I
use my machine for work and play constantly -except when playing golf or
driving somewhere
(rare) I have my desktop nearby or my laptop when traveling. They both
run 9.2 although
I've got Jag on the Pismo. Its just that there isn't anything I can't
with what I have. I
manage huge photo files and my music and all my work and do just fine.
Crashes are rare...
maybe because I use MS stuff as little as possible.
Ditto, I'm thinking, re PM. seems ok but doesn't knock my socks off...
All in all there
isn't any reason big enough stay with PM and worry about losing
attachments, or email files,
or to put up without some of the amenities I like with Netscape... and
if I need to I'll
just open up IE when Communicator bogs down... maybe one in 5 times on
the net lately...
and good old version 4.79 just keeps on ticking...carrying over 1.1 gigs
of email files for
christ's sake.
Anyway, I am very impressed with the depth of product loyalty, community
and of skill all of
you show regarding helping and supporting each other with PM issues on
the discussion
panel... so many others could learn from you.
Best Regards.

Just a couple of points...
1) There are many desirable aspects of OS-X and as 15+year user of pre-
OSX MAC operating systems I was worried about culture shock ... which
didn't really happen... The interesting thing is that one of the most
important improvements in OS X in my opinion is that multi-tasking
is
finally real. I can print on the printer without slowing my system
to a
crawl. Dialog windows are no longer modal...i.e. do an OPEN or SAVE
dialog in one program and click out to work in another program with
those
dialogs still open......I believe these are the aspects of OS-X that
have
so much improved my experience.
2) With respect to PM, it is a bit difficult. I have clearly given up
a
lot of features to use PM...but I really don't miss most of them. I
really like the "SCHEDULE" features of PM. Given that I travel a lot
and
find myself in many different places and different ways of connecting
to
the internet, this is a big win for me. But, of course, there are several
features that I would like to see in PM...
