As things often recur once a year, I need at least two years of messages online. I need to check back often of what was said last year and making 2 searches every time would make me lose too much time I could use for other things. However, Two years is enough for me for staying under the 2 GB limit and I can keep the rest in a separate database. The lack of a built in backup function to another database though does make the 2+ DB approach very tiresome. I tried making a backup script that would do it folder by folder, but the lack of support for handling the export window made that approach too time-consuming. 2 DBs OK. But there should be a simple built in way to make backups to other PowerMail DBs. Which is vastly superior to Filemaker DBs for this purpose.
