Does the spell checker work in other applications, like TextEdit? Some
third party dictionaries that integrate with Mac OS X's spell checker
can produce similar problems when they are not installed correctly.
If the problem does not come from the spell checker, please send me a
crash log (from the folder {home}/Library/Logs/CrashReporter).
