Here's an alternative: Paid for support. This could be done by CTM
themselves or more economically by long time users, that could be paid
if and when they can help trough some mother organisation that can
organoze such payments or even by some companies in places like India.
While not perfect, there would be support for those willing to pay for
it. While it's nice to get free support for a program you pay for, this
may not be feasible for PowerMail in the current situation.

Setting up a mail filter in PowerMail takes less time than using a web
forum in my experience. Only drawback I see is that messages have to be
downloaded.

Also, please remember that a forum could be reflected in the mailing
list and vice versa. At least some of Native Instruments mailing lists
works like this. This could give the best of both worlds actually. It
only have to be set up technically.
The users, us, or the developers could also set up a support WIKI where
questions could be posted and hopefully resolved or at least solution be
presented.

I need a PowerMail volume adjustment setting solution, please. If you
sit in a semi-public environment like a work place and the sound goes to
an amplifier in the purpose of hearing music it's very annyoing to hear
the newmail sound and other sounds from PowerMail.
Anyone know of an application that can make sound from a set of apps
take another route than the main sound and set it to another level? Can
Soundflower do this? Anyone know?

You could turn off the sound alerts from Power Mail preferences,
Notifications.
Or you could choose one of the softer sounds, if you still want some noise.

Pay for support??? There are plenty of Email clients out there whcih
work far better than PM and their developers seem far quicker to respond
to any problems which might be raised. No doubt I shall raise a few
eyebrows at PM but that's why I and many others paid money to buy this
programme.

That isn't drawback for me. If forum, I can't read when I have no net
connect, while I can download listserv posts, and read whenever I have a
spare time, like in a doctor's office :-)

Probably not. PM is seeing only Sound Control Panel. Soundflower is a
system extension to pipe one application CA output to another
application's CA input. Soundfloer Bed is to pipe application CA output
to CA driver if you are using multiple CA devices. They are not for
what you are looking for.
On the other hand, I bet you can sample sound produced from PM to
Kontakt2 using Soundflower. Soundflower Bed has been crashing ever
since I moved up to MBP2.4 from AlBook. The crash logo suggests general
OS toolkit bug. Too bad.
