Well, I sometimes see this gobbledegook in other postings, but never in
mine. What seems to be the cause? I am not using any special encodings
or non-standard fonts.

What I was trying to say was that in my "Network Interface Errors",
sending multiple messages (3 or 4) from the SAME account at the same
time would sometimes produce the error for one message, but all the
others would be successfully sent.

This seems to contradict the source of the problem (and subsequent
solution) that Steve A. presented earlier

My solution was to right-click (control-click) on the unsent message(s)
and re-send. They would then be successfully sent.

Ira, I received your original post to the list without any of the
gobbledegook (ha! Apple spell check understands gobbledegook! how very
fine!) that you quoted in your repost.

So it would appear to be a local display error that did not go past the
front door. Except that... I just looked in the headers for that message
and saw one I've never noticed before:

X-MIME-Autoconverted: from base64 to 8bit by sharkattack.co.uk id [000-
deleted by me for security-000]

Maybe there's a 64bit issue here? But I have no idea how that might
affect things, so I'll pass the baton to someone with technical chops.

Rick

You're receiving digests, and our list server does not handle correctly
UTF-8 encoded messages when generating a digest.
But I don't know why your message has been encoded in UTF-8; even if you
define UTF8 as your preferred charset in the preferences, message that
only contain ASCII should be sent in US-ASCII, and those that contain
non ASCII characters that are part of ISO-8859-1 (this seems to be the
case of your message) should be sent in ISO-8859-1.

I get a timely and responsive answer. I have a few quibbles of course
such as the use of non-standard Boolean operators (| instead of OR for
example) but overall I am very, very pleased.
